So I dropped my laptop...

Thread Starter
...late last nite. I came home from the bars properly inebriated and like a typical geek went straight to my laptop to check my email. I turned it off when I was done and proceeded to put it back into my bag. *Note to self*. NEVER EVER hold a laptop with one hand while drunk. The poor thing slipped out of my hadn dropped a good 2.5 feet onto the carpet. My heart skipped a beat and in a panic I tried to turn it on praying that nothing was broken. She survived! Phew...given how creaky the plastic is on my 8600 I thought I killed her. Man, score one for the 8600.

Phew!

Hey you might make light of the plastic but if it had been solid metal it would had transfered the energy to the vidal inerds! I think its great the way the 8600s are made, they are made of light material so that they are LIGHT and don't feel like a load of bricks in your lap.

Let me just say that you are not alone. Mistakes have been made, drinks have been drunk and computers dropped...... *ahem*. I have lost a good monitor this way (thought it would look better mounted on the wall, do NOT ask why.... and I thought I could manage this with some creative engineering. RIP Monitor).

Complete Care... pshhhhhh!

Trust me, complete care is worth its weight in gold and then some. Hardware fails and accidents happen, so the three year buffer can save a lot of cash down the line.

Yeah Im "listening" But I don't usually do dumb things like spill drinks or even drink anywhere near my lappy, nor do I handle it drunk.......If I do something stupid.I'll take full responsibility. Usually you only do a really dumb thing ONCE.!!

If not...Well I'd recommend breaking out the wallet and buying "idiot insurance" for sure....I mean uuuhem Complete Care!!!!

Glad your notebook is fine...but no worries if you did trash it...you have Complete Care!!!!!!! Don't you?
