I have an inspiron 6400, today iw as on battery, i decided to watch tv and my battery was at 35% and windows estimated i had 1 hr 20 min left, i knew my tv show was one hour so i just closed the lid and placed it on my coffee table, later when i went to check something at a commercial break (40 minutes later), i found my laptop had gone in to hibernate, i turned it back on and saw that the orange battery light was flashing. I thought to myself how did it go from 35% to 5% in that little time especially withthe lcd closed (the screen goes off saving power). I plugged my laptop in and checked my battery wear in notebook hardware control, my previous battery wear was 5% and now it is 18%. Should i call Dell? I think this is an unacceptable increase, i was expecting a battery wear of up to 8% based on previous experiences
my inspiron 6400 has a 9 cell battery, and is now 6 months old, it is usually kept cool and the battery isnt drained daily, maybe once a week it iwill get below 30%
