Notebook custom paint/airbrushed graphic

Now that www.smoothcreations.com is not taking custom orders (only painting their own from what they told me). Anyone recommend another shop to do something like that? I'm looking to get mine painted with automotive paint plus an airbrushed graphic on the lid. Thanks!

I'll bet a motorcycle painter could do a good job on a notebook. Some of them do very detailed airbrush art on the 'cycle gas tank and other small surfaces.

Another thought I had today, a lot of people want theirs done, but share the same concern about warranty. One thought I had was making a oversize badge for your laptop cover.

You fabricate a new faceplate for the laptop cover from 1/8" plastic or alum, make (if neccessary) cut-out for existing logo badge, we paint this plate, and you apply that faceplate with heavy duty 3M adhesive tape, that you can remove without damaging your cover

alot of local car places will do it, but you need to take things apart first. as a previous poster noted there are alot of concerns and most anywhere will have those same restrictions.

i know that i have some friends in the automotive world who have offered to get mine painted nicely if i wanted, said usually would cost a couple hundred for a single colour with them.

I think that would look pretty ghetto. I'd say just go with the paint job after your warranty is up. Or just don't worry about it.

Does anybody have any idea how much it would cost to get it custom painted?

It would depend on the type of paint, how many colors, any pearl or graphics, and how much ( how involved, detailed ) airbrush work. Any prep work would also factor in. The only person able to give you an accurate answer is the guy that is going to paint it.
