Dell XPS M1710 + Personalization Shield - LOTS OF PICS!

I was going to review my lappy but thought their were to many already. I decided just to do my personalization shield for review. Well these have been around for a while but they fit perfectly on our current systems so why not say something about it.

I remember having an M170 and it was prone to scratches even being well taken care of, so I did not risk the chance against this one. All I can say is this thing is very sturdy and protects the cover of the M1710 very well. You will see in the pictures that this will cover all the red of my red edition M1710.

I pressed against the shield with it diss-attached and I was very impressed on how firm it kept. Its made with harden plastic with a glass like plastic window. I would recommend this shield to anyone with the an M170/M1710 model.

The XPS1710 looks much better with the sheilds than without IMO.

Do you like your G7 ?,I got one a month ago and love it except for its relatively poor battery life,I guess thats the price you pay for no sleep mode, flawless wireless performance with absolutely no hint of delay.

Yeah I have been thinking of ordering one for a while. My black cover already has some scratches on it from putting it in my backpack. I have seen some people put these on the 9300 so i imagine it will fit the 9400 too. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...2&sku=311-4994

Yeah the G7s are really nice. I do agree about the short battery life though its really short I only get about 8-10hrs on it these days.

I was just looking through your old setup, renovating, and new setup pics. What happened to the Formula Red 710?

Where did you get that XPS mousepad? Did it come with your laptop? I don't suppose you have the part number for it, cause I'd love to get one for my M170.

It came with my Desktop XPS 710 but you can also get it with the XPS 210 and XPS 410 model. I could not locate the part number nor the item number on my order. Hopefully someone else with the mouse pad can get it for you. My G7 glides very well on the mouse pad by the way.

Sorry to revive an old thread. I scored a Personalization Shield, brand new from Dell.ca. Took about 3 weeks from the time of order, to the time I got it (today). Looks great. I scored it to protect the finish on my M1710 (had left the factory protectant on it until today). No photos going in it.

Dell.ca product code is 311-4994. Not sure if that works in other Del locations or not. I'd seen people asking. Cost just over $30 Canadian, including taxes. Free ship.

I just got my personalization shield today. 10 bucks new on ebay without the inserts. Got it in 3 days. It was covered in the protective plastic so i know it is new. Sellers name is RandyIslands if anyone is interested.

LOL RandyIslands, sort of reminds me of that bond film where a girl says "Hi,I'm Plenty" bond says "of course you are"

BTW,nice deal.
