New version of NHC is out - Page 2

Sure you know how to use it? I have used it on all my procs w/o issue... If you don't place the check in the box it will not allow you to modify the voltage.

..Of course with an engineering sample there is no tellling (most people don't have those)
Yea, I think it may mainly be a ES sample issue but RMClock lets me choose which ever voltages I want (from the lowest available which is 0.950v to 1.212v) so I have mine set up from 6x@0.95v to 13x@1.1v where NHC offers me no choices at all (I can't even check the box to get to voltage/multi options).

So, I was just pointing this out for other users and for the NHC peeps as I would be more than willing to give it another go if they can fix the ES no voltage options issue.
Until then, I will keep using RMClock which works like a charm.

Woops, sorry, I didn't notice that!

Anyways, is PowerMizer accessible to anyone under Vista? If so, what drivers are you on?

Also, my battery is showing a 12% wear level. At what level do they recommend you replace your battery?
@ 50 percent wear your battery starts failing rapidly. The wear level will increase at an exponential rate at that point.

Yes, I've experienced this twice. Once it's at a certain point, it just peters out real quick. ...But that "good for 500 charging cycles" jive must be in a zero degree Celcius environment, or something! -In an effort no to go too far off topic; I loaded NHC just to try it, and the battery info specifics were a little bit different than what RMClock gives me. Where are these programs getting the battery info? -The OS, BIOS, ...the battery chip?

THe Battery has an IC in it that monitors it's performance & communicates through the SMBus. This includes charge cycles, recharge to capacity times, power drain stats, cell temperatures...etc..

It also sends data to the charger indicating the type of charge it requires. THe problem is these batteries should be calibrated every several months... Unfortunately I have not found a calibration program for these yet.

Yee ha. I like this software. I've missed it since I went Vista. Now if only Dell would release Quickset for the I9300 and Vista.

Well after playing with the new version for a few days in XP & Vista I think I am going to revert back to the prior release in XP. It seems the new release has a few issues keeping profiles straight when you switch between AC/DC. this is in addition to the issues with the right context menu to change the profile not working correctly.

hopefully a new version comes out soon.

(I have the professional version)
