Running without a battery

If I have my laptop plugged into the AC adapter, would is cause any harm to remove the battery and run it only on the adapter....

No, it won't harm your PC (although it may tend to wobble a bit if one of the rubber feet is attached to it. . . )

Also, your battery will last longer--especially if you store it at 50% charge at a cool temperature.

Also, just make sure to not let any dust build up in there, it could turn out being a mess if you leave it too long
