Have an Acer 4400 for 19 months. Been OK, save a power supply pin issue.

The video display just started fouling up graphic images, making a lot of the image portions appear in 16 and 32 color mode. It fouls up only parts of the images, including the wallpaper. Any consisten color looks almost "sun burned", but it is inconsistent as to which pixels may not be accurate.

Before we say "video driver", this also happens immediatley at boot up with the Acer logo. I also have the laptop split into 3 partitions (XP, W2K3/32-bit and W2K3/64-bit) and it happens with all 3 operating systems.

Any tricks to try before I have to send this thing to the 2-3 week black hole known as Acer support in Texas?

If I send the display out the VGA port, the displayed images are fine, it is only with the laptop display itself.

The laptop works fine otherwise.
