7950GTX on its way!

Finally, after weeks of arguing with Dell over lies told about what my laptop would be, i finally got the concession of having a 7950GTX being put into my XPS m1710. From what i heard, the card is a monster. What am I in for in terms of 3Dmark scores, gaming fps rates, etc.

All intelligent feedback appreciated.

Thanks

re: suryad: I iniitally was told in writing by dell supervisors and even exec. support that my m1710 would be supplied with a 7950GTX. It took 2 wks and so many displays of documents and chat logs that proved my case. They lied about memory and video card, and i couldn't get a straight answer from ANYONE, so finally i called up, complained told them i'd return the laptop if what was shown in writing wasn't there and go to falcon-nw, and tada, nice upgrade.

SolApathy: i'm not complaining by any means about what this thing is capable of doing. I'm more complaining about being lied to by Dell and having to dig so much for proof. It amazes me that their tech support is so discombobulated that it can be called even remotely a "network". Also, at least in NYS, if a supervisor puts in writing that there will be an authorisation for a 512MB card, then that person, as a representative of Dell, becomes responsible for the insertion of that card into the system. If the card isn't put in, the consumer is allowed to take action.

Gosh man I am glad you had it taken care of!

(can't wait for my i9300 to die 3 years from now so I can get the XPS M1910 with a Geforce Go 8950GTX 1024MB... oh yeah, it's coming!)

edit: and f*#$ing dual-link capability on the DVI port so I can hook it up to my 3007WFP and 2560x1600 instead of lame 1280x800.

ok, i put in the 7950GTX, and as a base we got 9257. I think with the right tweaking i can get the 9500 mark down pat.
