Acer Aspire 5672 - CD Stuck In Drive

Hi All,

Can someone help me out by telling me how to get a CD out of the Drive? I put in a blank CD and the drive is the kind that sucks in the CD, but now that the CD is in the drive it won't eject it.

When I press the eject button, it sounds like it wants to come out, but then it goes back in and starts spinning again.

i had something similiar occur, but i said screw it, and used a pair of thin tongs from a pc repair kit, to grip and yank, i suppose a tweezers would work. it's the curse of the damn slot load drives. always could send it in, but it sucks. by the way if u are a 5672 owner there was a recall on the battery's check the acer website for more info. u sign up and i guess they will ship a replacement. whenever just thought u should know.

Ive had the same thing, but managed to solve it. Since this was the first thing I found I created an account to give the answer also here. Cause it took me a while to find the very simple solution.

I used the protective metal piece of a diskette disk. It is a bit of a U-piece so you can push it into the drive on one side, then press the eject button and get the disk to be in the metal piece, together with the other side wall you can push/rotate it out. It worked for me in one try!

Good luck with it. I know how it is because I was pretty nervous when it was stuck. My laptop is already 4 years old and relying on acer warranty is never a good solution.
