what about the drivers? The machine is in question is a Dell XPS laptop. I was wondering for those who have put XP SP2 on it instead of going with Vista, were you able to find all the drivers for all the hardware on the laptop?

I just ordered an ACER 3680 that comes with VISTA but want to install my own copy of Windows XP Pro. Will this cause a problem with the drivers? How can I backup/find the drivers if I need them? I'm a total newbie with laptops and not much of a hardware expert at all. Please be patient with me...

Mine came with Vista Ultimate and I immediately put XP Pro SP2 on there. I was able to find every driver on my sig through the dell support website. One day I will put Ultimate back on there until that day comes the DVD which came with my laptop is useless.
