I just don't like when people say there's no way we'll see it until Q3 like it's fact and that people believing on it coming out earlier are being stupid, because that's just as an assumption as anything else. That's why I was arguing.
it all depends on what their view of summer is.... summer in a non Q1-Q4 sense can well mean august 31st...
if the 88XX series mobile cards were so close Nvidia would have done everything to push them forward and likely cut one of the lower end cards out of the initial release since ultimately there is more money in the high end market where they can charge ridiculous amounts for each card. you may not like it that people keep saying Q3 for the card, but in the end that has much more credibility than the other claims of "summer" simply based on the facts to this point. people have looked at the heat produced and the power consumption of the 8800 series and have come to the conclusion that there is a need for a process shrink before it can be moved into a mobile platform. the ability of nvidia to produce cards with the necessary size is known and not only that but nvidia simply doesnt have the capacity without some new manufacturing coming online.
in the end it comes down to being hopeful that things come sooner but i wouldnt put my money down on it.
