How do i Open Sony Vaio VGN FJ270

My CD/DVD drive is not working in Sony Vaio FJ270. Somebody please tell me how to open and replace the CD/DVD rom in my laptop
My Laptop Ran out of warranty this april.
Yes i can open cd rom tray, seems like, system is not recognizing this CD rom Drive. In other words i don't see CD rom Drive in system properties, my computer and bios. But yes if I press CD rom button it does open. It doesn't show any CD rom drive icon in my computer.
Please help me

First try a bootable CD. If you can boot off of one, then the drive still works. You need to delete the registry keys lowerfilters and upperfilters for the cd drive and then reboot.

If you need to remove the cd drive it is a bit of work.
Remove the screws from the bottom of the unit... There is one for the keyboard towards the middle and two on the side for the cd drive.

Flip the unit over and gently push the pins in along the top of the keyboard to lift it out.

Once the keyboard is out you will see a metal tray. There is a single screw on the cd rom drive you can reach through it.
Remove that screw then slide the cd rom drive out.

My girlfriend has a vgn-fj170 with the same problem. It started off appearing to be "picky" with media. Got worse & worse & now the drive does not show at all. I bought a service manual off ebay & that thing is near useless. It shows a few exploded diagrams, but that's it. No instructions, steps or anything. I'm hoping the instructions above will help me out. My main concern though is will an ordinary slim dvd burner fit in this laptop? Vaios are much slimmer than the majority. I appreciate any help/suggestions!
