Haven't seen any pics of the 300m here before. So here they are:

Pic 2
Pic 3
Pic 4
Pic 5

In the PCMCIA slot I have a CF adapter and there is an SD card in the SD slot. I don't have the media base, but I can put of some pics of the D/Bay later.

My brother has one of these little buggers. HE used to have a T21 but wanted something even smaller for his frequent flights to Asia for business. It's a nice little machine.

That is a very slim notebook. Amazing really. Does it get very warm? I like how it looks.

It can get a little warm on the bottom. Actually the only time it got hot was when playing The Sims. Otherwise it stays pretty cool most of the time. The right palm rest can warm up as the hard drive is underneath it.

What about the noise it makes, how are the fans, are they even on in normal usage mode?
Too bad this baby isn't available in Germany cause I really love it.
Any chance you can do some benchmarks and more pics please.
I really love this baby

Very quite. Pretty much silent. There is a fan port on the right side which is not pictured. I rarely feel much of a breeze from this port.

I will run some benchmarks soon. I recently cleared off the OS and reinstalled XP Pro. I did run PCMark2004 before clearing everything up and I got a score of around 2200. I don't think that it was too bad, but I plan to retest.

Great, really nice of you and some more pics please, like more detail pics of the laptop and the interfaces it has.
I know this is hard to do but can you judge the display cause in such small laptops the display is often pretty bad.

Thanks and waiting for the new stuff

Here are a few more pictures. I tried to get the screen. It is very good although it is XGA. I guess any more wouldn't make sense on a 12" screen. It is very sharp.

The laptop specs are all at Dell, but I feel it has a pretty good selection of ports for something its size. I kind of wish it had s-video out, but other then that, there are plenty of ports including 2 USB, 1 Firewire, a PCMCIA slot and a SD slot. It also has fast IR which I haven't used much.

I also ran 3DMark2001 and I got a score of 1885 (at 1024 x 768, 32 bit). My desktop got 10632. I guess I won't be playing that many games, but that should be ok for some simpler stuff.

Thanks a lot for your work. Highly appreciated.
I really love this laptop.
I just called in DELL Germany and asked about it and they had no idea or any news about the 300m coming for Germany :-(
Really too bad cause I think I would buy it right away

PS: If you have more stuff about the laptop then please post :-)

If I300m is not available in Germany, check if the Latitude X300 is. They are the exact same systems
post #12 of 34
I noticed that, yes, but the I300m looks way cooler with the blue color :-)

Do you have any more information on it? Any links? Also about how long a time frame before the end of the 300m (x300) ?
Yep would be great to know cause I am kind of searching for a small machine like this and I don't wanna buy a outdated model.
BTW the X300 is very expensive and I doubt the 300m is, cause it is always the same with Inspirion and Latitude
