sup guy's its been too long! anyway I'm back on here now, got a new job a Fry's electronics as an a+ certified tech, so all day long a repair desktops and notebooks, mostly hp, Compaq, and Sony, with e few Fujitsu and Toshiba models coming in, so forgive me for not staying in touch.

So, now come to the part where i say, hey i needs some help on a purchase for a new notebook,
my current notebook is a acer 1690. however I'm looking to purchase something new, the problem is a only see these stupid notebooks at work that seem to break all the time so I'm staying away from them,

This is what i need,

1 a notebook 15.4" or less that wont break my back to lug it around,
2 glossy screen, doesn't have to have ultra-high res (i had a XPS gen 2 and i don't need that again) 1280 by 800 is fine
3 dedicated graphics able to play games, cs1.6, maybe source, ut2k4-2k7, hl2, doom3,quake4,prey, doesn't have to be butter smooth 102394871023498712FPS, just run it over 72fps will work for me
4 looks good, maybe some easy to use media keys,
5 feature's

last time i checked, acer had the best bank for the buck, i think it was the acer 1694? It had an X1600 in it? I went to there site and i could hardly fine A notebook that wasn't ati xpress 1100, what's up with that?

the ASUS G1 looks cool, minus the lime green camera and $$$$$$$, maybe another notebook on the asus lineup?

forgive me if this is the XXXXXXXXXX time a post like this has come up, I'm out of the loop on anything besides hp, Compaq, and i say no to those from my everyday experience

so, please help?

Um you want to be able to play UT3 atleast at 72 fps? Whats your budget? The Asus G1 or Alienware Area 51 m5550 are definately your best bets.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm only hoping the screen isn't to high res on that G1, my NEC 20.1 " is 1680 by 1050, at home, and im not worried about ut2k7 that much, i play 1.6 more than anything, but it would be nice to have the ability to play new games, any other suggestions, i dont really have a set budget. hoping under 2k.
