For people having issues with Vista, make sure you upgrade to the latest 3517 BIOS before install Vista. It will save alot of headaches. I had to resintall Vista after upgrading the bios to get the USB and O2Micro card reader to work properly.

When you say you have the O2Micro card reader working correctly, what do you mean? Is that the SD card reader? And can you get cards to work with ReadyBoost?

So far, I'm not having any luck with an SD card that I know works in Vista, on a Toshiba M400. On my 8204, though, it's tested as "too slow." It's a SanDisk Ultra II, which should be plenty fast.

Thanks!

Well, some investigation results. Card reader in TM8200 series has absolutely nothing to do with O2Micro. Reader is some Acer-branded generic reader on USB (connected internally). You see it as something like "ACER USB20-HS ..." under Hard Drives section in Device manager when you plu in some card into it (in Win XP that is).

I have the SD card reader working. I have not tried ready boost. Oh, the reader doesn't really work with 8 Gig SDHC cards such as the Patriot class 4 one I purchased. I have tried the PCMCIA slot as i don't have any use for it.

I do know that I have no devices without drivers.
