I am having a confusing and frustrating problem with my new nc8000 I received last thursday. Everything works great, but when I try to install/play some of my games that are 2 to 4 years old they either don't install properly (or at all) or when I play them they do a complete freeze up of the system. I have tried to fix this using the help wizard suggestions like doing system restores to many different points or by uninstalling/reinstalling drivers. Anyway, It seems my next course of action is to do a *clean install* of windows and start from scratch (unless someone has a better idea). I have loaded many of the apps/etc from my other laptop, with some of these being downloads of printer drivers and the like off the internet. I would like to keep these and not have to spend the time redownloading/etc after doing the clean install. Is the best way to do this by simply burning this stuff to a CD and loading back on later? Also, is there anything else that I should or shouldn't be doing in particular with a clean install? Thanks in advance for your help!
