Hello all from Scotland. Am a newbie here so hope am doing this right.
Basically my problem is this. I bought a Acer laptop in January. I qualified for a free Vista upgrade, which i foolishly installed on my laptop. I Had nothing but problems so decided to try and get back to XP via my Factory settings disc made on first boot. Problem being....it only goes as far as 89%, asks for the second disc and then does nothing when the disc is inserted other than spit it out. I followed the disc creation instructions to the letter!
I have emailed acer about it but dont expect a swift reply. In a previous email, the Acer employee recommended trying Alt and F10 on startup when slpash screen appears to enable me to get factory settings without the discs. Needless to say, this doesnt work either. If i try and boot from hard drive, i get "NTLDR is missing" message.
I have health probs and it really is important i have it working as i depend on it greatly at times. ANY help would be gratefully appreciated.
Cheers!!
