Hi all,
Having recently sent my laptop back to Ireland for repair I was hoping that it would come back & I'd have no further problems ..... How Nieve I was to think that as the laptop has come back with exactly the same problem.
Can any suggest any solutions for the following problem (sounds like a driver/software issue to me).
After the laptop has been turned off for an extended period of time (a few hours) and is then powered back up the screen goes blank when changing from low res to high res modes (after the Windows XP logo (while loading the video driver I think). You can hear that the laptop has booted up correctly & if you connect an external screen you get a display on that. If I then immediatly hibernate the laptop and wake it up again the display will return to the inbuilt screen.
Does anyone have any insights into this problem as so far Alienware's support is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard!
Even more annoying is the fact that I was informed they'd replaced the screen ..... what did they do? copy my fingerprints onto the new one?
Any help appreciated & apologies for the mini-rant.
