ACER Aspire 5610 - In dire need of help.

Thread Starter
I'm a newbie at using ACER notebooks, and was trying to dual boot my old MS XP os with the MS Vista OS that came packaged with my notebook. After installing XP, i wasn't able to login to Vista again. Thinking that there was a problem, I decided to just re-install Vista again -- a big mistake.

Now, my Vista has been reinstalled, but I can't find the software bundled with my notebook. I can see this PQSERVICE partition on my harddrive, but I can't seem to access it. Anybody have an idea as to what my next action would be?

Unless you created the restoration CDs in the beginning, there isn't a way to restore it. You could try with a Vista CD if you borrow one, try with the Acer cd key. That may or may not work.

Hi, I have the same problem. Tried to format and install xp and it would not work. When I first started my 5610z it told me to make the backups and restore cd. Well I did but they aren't worth a shit. Won't work at all. Acer sucks! I've been searching forums for 3wks. now for a fix. If I find anything will let you know. Also need the erecovery software if any one can help me. Mrs. Philpot

Sorry if you reformated and removed the service partition completely, then there's nothing you can do. I've always been able to install XP from an original full disc though
