I'm really screwed here and need some help in locating my Gateway MX6447's Original BIOS 84.04 exe. if any of you here has THIS Please PM me , all I need is the 84.04 exe BIOS Bin file TO FIX THIS PROBLEM in XP...................also PLEASE read below:

Here's some advice, DON'T Upgrade your MX644X to the VISTA BIOS, I did this, and XP won't run anymore, the ATI xpress 1150 3D function no longer works, and it crashes ,and BSOD, due to having a Vista BIOS, so Now, XP is useless, unless, I can somehow find the orginal BIOS that shipped w/ my notebook, Gateway won't help me, and they say, it's my fault, they don't have the old XP BIOS, and that they no longer support XP anymore. they want to sell me a New Motherboard for $344 to FIX THIS (but the original BIOS Will correct this) this isn't covered under my Warranty!!! WHAT A BUNCH OF BULL!!! I think this is so unfair that Gateway is doing me this way, I would understand, if I would have use a 3rd party BIOS, but I got this form the Gateway Drivers website, and not anywhere else.......anyway, here's the specs on my mobo:

If anyone of you have the old 84.04 exe. Bin BIOS, PLEASE host this file for me, so that I can FIX THIS.......the problem with this, is the motherboard Vendor is Over Seas, (Taiwan) and they don't even have a website for me to get this Old BIOS from, so if any of you do update to the Vista 84.06 BIOS, Please SAVE your old XP 84.04 BIOS, so that I can get this form you, I would be FOREVER GRATEFULL!!!!

I'm not sure, but, I could never get the 68.05 exe. BIOS to install, and I have tried it both in Vista & XP, it won't finish the Flash, and it just stalls, I have to unplug all USB devices, and the Power plug, then take out the Battery to re-boot my notebook, it just LOCKS UP? I never really got a STr8 answer form Gateway as to why that is happening, but was told to use 84.06 exe. BIOS if I was running Vista, that one seems to work? but, to date, Gateway just WILL NOT offer up the Orignal 84.04 exe. BIOS (The one that came with my MX6447 Notebook) all Gateway says is "We don't have that orginal BIOS, and just use Vista, as we no longer support XP anymore"..............How could Gateway say such a thing? not supporting my Notebooks original OS, that just doesn't make ANY sence to me, I don't understand that? I have never been able to make heads or tails of ANYTHING Gateway says and does? and after buying 2 notebooks, this will be my VERY last Gateway..........this Company has lost me as a customer FOREVER!!!

I ALMOST did the vista bios too. Thanks god I didn't!! But I hope SOMEONE can find it somewhere. I intend to try vista someday.I have a MX6448 that I believe will handle it. But even if I don't I would like to have access to ALL the original driver for my laptop! Hell even Dell Has there bios for OLD laptops!! Just did a old 9 year old latitude!!!!
Does anyone know a way to copy my bios to a file or something?

The only way to get the old BIOS back is to send it into gateway......but I have Vista on one HDD and XP on another HDD and XP works fine here all I do is slide the Vista HDD out and put in the one with XP on it........simple HUH?

do you guys still need the bios? I am using a mx6448 with xp on it. I can get it from my laptop if you need it. just email me at the_wall84@yahoo.com

I am also trying to figure out how to fix my fan. Every once in a while boot up stops and gives me a screen that says to check my fan. I just reboot and it works fine until it overheats (by watching a movie or something). Any help would be appreciated.

You can also upload the file into a post via attachment. This way we can always have access to it when needed

Have you tried just cleaning it up first and applying new thermal paste?

cheers ...
