Replace LCD Ribbon?

Thread Starter
Hey Everyone,

So one day i was adjusting my LCD screen angle and some part inside the laptop was smoking. I'm more than likely suspecting the LCD ribbon cable got too hot or shorted or something causing it to burn up. Since then the LCD has not worked (Lights up but nothing on the screen).

Problem of the matter is, i don't have a clue how to disassemble the LCD portion of the laptop - Anyone have any pointers on how i can get to the LCD Ribbon portion of my laptop?

Thanks

PM me your email address and I'll send you the Service Manual.

Not sure if the Sager manual covers LCD removal or not. If not, you might want to try here. You can purchase used LCDs from that site I linked to or any number of others - just Google LCD replacement. I purchased one and replaced a co-worker's screen once. Piece of cake!
