oh. you see i got vista and i dont know which one can unleashed its full performance on one of the card.

I am looking at the 512mb 7950gtx and the 8800gtx and which one will be the best and most compatible?

youd want to go with the 8800 if youre choosing between the two, for the benefit of the DX10 (and I think it performs a little better for DX9 stuff than the 7950 too)

8800GTX hands down, my single 8800GTS (320) beats my old 7900GS SLI setup

And now it can also be proven that the 8800gtx (and gts for that matter) beat the socks off of ATI's hd2900xt as well. 8800gtx is *the* card for this decade.

P.S. In computers, a decade is 6 months

although you may want to wait for a 8900GTX or GX2.

should a decade be more like 10 months? i mean, just based on the root of the word. it has been around for what, almost 9 months already, and no single card has really overtaken it as the performance king, so 10 months still works.

Lol; yes you are quite right. My thought was the formula some guy came up with in 1997 or something that computers double in speed every 6 months. It was true for about... 6 months. 10 months is probably agreeable, because there is that short timeframe where something better has come along, but it's not a must-have *yet*.
