I have a 2 year old 3790 that has worked flawlessly. Turned it off at work today, turned it on at home and all of the lights come on and the cd clicks/access light flashes, but no POST no boot. It seems the HD light dims between cd clicks. If I eject the cd tray, the clicking stops. I've pulled/replaced the HD and RAM to no avail. I've pulled the cd completely from the machine and now it's just silent, all lights, no boot.
I found a reference to a HD controller needing replacement and mobo replacement, but nothing specific. I'd like to find it to be a loose wire
Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm calling support tomorrow, but really don't think it's going to be worth the cost of support compared to the laptop age. We'll see.
