Apple store is down right now 8:30am EST

Guess we'll see something new soon!

it's the new specs on the macbooks. faster chips, 1GB of RAM, and larger hard drives on all their stock systems.

God damn it, I just ordered on sunday too.. lol.. it's coming in today hopefully. Oh well, I could care less for a 166 mhz speed increase. Plus, I'm upgrading the hard drive myself to something with a 7200 RPM later on. Im good... i guess. lol

not much of an upgrade, kakarot you can call apple and talk to them about it. I'm sure they'll give you an upgrade.

Except for the integrated Intel GMA950 64mb (shared) graphics which royally sucks.

the gma950 wasnt all that bad on my first mac, the 1.83 cD MB.

it was really just a bonus getting an actual video card when i bought the mbp. i was buying mainly for the screen size. i do miss the MB in the aspects of size and battery life. the mbp just doesnt get what the MB got, or even close (which was to be expected.)

but u just cant beat the silver aluminum and the other features of my pro!

Not a bad deal ... higher specs for the same (or similar) cost.

I'd guess this indicates there will, in fact, be more separation between the MacBook Pros and MacBooks once the Pros are updated.

Buy the old macbooks if you want one from Amazon... the Black ones are like $1099 AR or something...

I'm not buying a Mac until they add a dedicated graphics card, Santa Rosa, and when Leopard comes out... which hopefully they will do sometime in the next year! Sorry Mac, its not that I'm not attracted by your OS, your hardware is still lacking.

Or you could come out with a 13.3 inch MBP... thats fine too

Aye, they agreed to give me an upgrade but I decided not to. Im using the 90 day no interest and I'll lose that if I do go with the upgrade. Doesn't matter, 166 Mhz isn't much and the 8x dvd burner.. i survive with a 4x, so its nothing.
