In my never ending quest for more battery life I'm trying to minimize the use of things that traditionally drain the batt. I almost never use CD/DVD drives anymore and even if I were be in a situation, such as a long flight, I'd likely rip any movies I wanted to see to the HD and not actually bring the discs along with me. Does this make sense battery wise? Just from thinking about it would seem that spinning a full sized DVD for 2 hours would use far more power than watching off of the HD or even a flashdrive. Am I wrong in my assumption? Anyone have any idea whether watching from a flash drive or memory card would use even less power than an HD? I know they draw some power from the computer but I can't imagine it is very much considering there are no moving parts for flash or memory cards.
