!XPS is now sitting in my bedroom! - Page 2

I have patched the game with 1.3, haven't checked the actual frame rates (have never needed to - and I'm not sure how). COD plays very smoothly at the resolution I'm playing it at (1280x1024). No stutters at all.

Still playing. Wireless went down again (could have been my fault ), but after two frustraing hours and a system restore everything is working fine again.

COD froze again during gameplay. Got through a level and a half before it froze. Man, I hope this is just a COD only issue and that a patch will be released to fix it. None of the other games I have played so far have crashed (Halo, Battlefield, Warcraft).

I'm going to install the facry demo and see how far I get with that.

Bogus-
Best of luck, and for sure keep us updated. These posts are making me nervous for when my 9100 arrives, so lets hope Dell gets this right.

BTW, did the PC lock when you benchmarked it or no?

ArchAngle has your system shipped yet?
Ours went into boxing at around the sametime and mine is still there just wondering.

Nah, I just checked and my 9100 is still in boxing. The first time I noticed it was in boxing was Monday around 10 AM eastern time, but I honestly had not checked my order status since Sunday afternoon or even Saturday night, so I am not totally sure when exactly it entered that phase.

Yeah, if your XPS went into boxing on Monday, I bet they have a seat on the same plane. I am hoping we can expect the machines before the end of the week. All my complaining to Dell only got me next day shipping, but if the machines leave Dell's facility Wednesday or Thursday, then there is a chance I will be stress testing on Saturday.

Let me know when your XPS comes in or if you get tracking numbers though, because I am willing to bet my 9100 will leave at the same time.

I had a few issues w/ far cry demo, but the full game plays great.

No it didn't lock when I tested it with 3dMark2003 for about an hour looped. Leads me to belive that the problem lies with COD. Just finished playing about 1/2 hour of farcary demo at 1280x1024. No problems, it ran better than my desktop.

9100 on the way, and I want to be ready!

bogus,
What is the "powerstrip" fix you were talking about? My 9100 should arrive within the week and i want to be prepared for any fixes I need to run CoD.

Thanks,
Camulus

PS: Ignore my post on the Dell forums, as you've obviously been around this forum for quite a while.

For some reason, installing powerstrip and simply moving the core and memory frequencies up or down 1mhz (and leaving Pstrip running) makes everything work (for some).

Also, COD is one of those games that was fixed by disabling Hyperthreading in the bios.

I'll remember that when I test CoD on my 9100 (when it arrives).

No problem, Camulus.

Does anyone know of a good site that I can upload pics of my XPS to? Tried to post but had no luck.

Thanks,

I've played Halo, warcraft, farcry, COD, and good old team fortress and experienced no ghosting to speak of. Also went to this site and tested for ghosted/stuck pixels ect. and found none.

This screen is excellent. Akbar, you shouldn't have any problems playing counterstrike.
