HP ZT3000 won't boot

Thread Starter
I have a HP Pavillion ZT3000 laptop that won't boot. All lights come on, fans come on, there is a litle HD activity at beginning, but the screen is black. I have tried with a extern screen, new RAM and a new HD, but still black screen. I have gooogled the problem extensively and searched this forum to no avail. Please help!

That laptop has a separate/detachable video card that tends to go bad. I would start there first. I've repaired numerous of these laptops. PM me if you have any other questions.

Look at the troubleshoting chapter. There is a dedicated section on video card troubleshooting.

I cleaned the display connector and fixed my ZT3000. Thanks for the tips and for the link to the repair manual. I would have never figured out how to disassemble this thing without out it!
