USB ports on docking station not working TM8100

I have the docking station for the TM8100 and I can't seem to get the USB ports to work anymore. Fortunately the ones on the laptop still work but unplugging everything every time I want to undock the laptop is a little silly. Anyone have this problem before or have any ideas on what I could do? I don't think there are any drivers for the docking station except for the modem.

I have the exact same problem.. My USB ports don't work on my ezDock anymore. Neither does the PCMCIA port. The DVI port and Ethernet works fine though.

I did some more testing and firewire, USB are down. Ethernet, VGA, SPDIF, Analog Audio, all seem to work fine.

Anyone??

I've emailed acer support. Let you know when they reply. haha

After extensive testing, this is what I believe happened.

1) My device manager notes that my USB root hub (the ones connected to my computer) are allowed 2 devices. When I try to disable the drivers for my USB universal host controller (the ones connected to my ezDock), my computer USB hubs are disabled instead.

Anything to correct this?

Well done on the testing. Any word back from ACER?

I was thinking it could be a dirty/bent pin on the docking plug.

UPDATE:

Called Acer, they said they would send me out a new one right away. I really think this must be a common problem because they didn't ask many questions. Then they asked for the recipt which I had from amazon. LUCKILY I purchased this product 364 days ago on June 9th 2006! I was one day inside the mfr 1 year warranty!! how lucky!

So I'm awaiting the new dock! Hopefully it will work fine.

Advice to all, have it replaced under WARRANTY!

Is this a problem of 64 bit systems? I also bought one and USB ports do not work!...

My USB ports up and died after 13 months. Searching the Web, you'll find that this is not uncommon.

If you call Acer support, you will be told that no replacements will be made after warranty, and no repairs are available for any dock at any price. It sounds like you've just become a member of the expensive Acer doorstop club like the rest of us!
