Factory,Audit or Reseal

So... I fired my new laptop up right out of the packing and got a box on the desktop called SYSPREP.In the box you have options factory audit and reseal. I think this is for Gateway techs to set up the computer when they have it. They hit reseal after they have done all that's needed, but they forgot to this time.
Does anybody know about this? Should I hit reseal?

Maybe this is a onetime chance to change or see something interesting.

I don't think it will do any harm to your system, seems to me that its just a way to setup the PC's install environment (like BartPE) hitting reseal, after you have done what you wanted to do, sounds interesting? just make sure you don't do something that you cannot FIX later on..............but if you have the Factory Restore DVD's if you do BORK something, I'm sure a Format & reinstall will correct this?

I hit reseal. normal install questions to set up lan.
I did something interesting though, I used gparted to shrink my hard drive system partition from 95 gb to 12 mb,.Then made a 3gb for swap file and the rest [80gb] as storage. Hit apply, crossed my fingers and rebooted. XP came up with no probs just new drives.

Factory Audit Mode is for making changes (installing software, removing drivers, etc) to an automatic install. temporary files and user accounts aren't saved in Audit mode. if it came in Audit mode then it just means they happened to have tested that one's software before boxing it up, and forgot to reseal it.

Yup. Everything works good. Came on this forum after I bought it but before it arrived.
I had to remind myself that the Mx6455 is not all bad- thousands sold and just a half a page of complaints.
So far no booting probs or fan/shutdown[ the worst].
Sneaky advertizing, the version of 200M supports only 64mb of video ram[shared]
