I'm having trouble booting a Sony VGN-N250E. The system begins the start-up process and takes me to the Windows Error Recovery page stating a Windows Failed Start. The selection choices are, Launch Startup Repair or Start Windows Normally, both selection begin to load windows files and immediately freezes on the screen displaying Microsoft Corporationn and a blank bar (Vista OS). The system will boot no further than this point.
I attempted to use the System Recovery DVD's and the system still stops at the same place. Hey, I even tried booting from a Knoppix V5.1.1 CD and received a blank screen. However, when I tried using Knoppix V3.2, the boot process begins and I get an error message that says the following:
PCI: Device 00:1f.1 not available because of resource collisions
I get nowhere after this. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
