macbook glossy ok for outdoors?

How well does the macbook's glossy lcd work outside? Is it doable, or does the matte finish on the black model work better?

The black MacBook does not have the option for a matte screen, only the MacBook Pro has that. In the sun though, the glossy screen is a little bit worse than a matte screen, but honestly neither one is very good IMO. I have the MacBook (glossy screen therefore) and have had very few problems with glare overall

the gloss isnt the real issue with most laptop screens, its the fact that they just arent bright enough outside. i could see mine ok (MBP) but it was very very dim.

just couldnt keep up with the natural light, too bright. this was on an overcast day as well.
