im about to get a MB and im torn between Hard drives. would the 160g be super slow at 5200rpm? i was even considering the 200g but at 4200g that must be horrible loading times and wat not right? this notebook as with alot of notebooks, its going to be used with school, im big into music and im starting to learn photoshop. not much on vid editing(dont have a camera lol) would there be a sizeable difference in performance between the 120g and the 160?

i think the 160gig 5400 is the sweet spot in the macs right now.

best bang for your buck. of course, if u want a 7200rpm hd, youll have to get aftermarket, so in that case get the smallest from apple

ok thats cool, ill go with the 160. another quick question..if i go to the apple store n buy it, do i still get the education discount?

Yea you will need to login to the edu store area (enter in your school etc) but it still applies

I believe the school discount is 10 percent you can get 20 percent if you sign up as a education developer no fee and no requirements and you get 1 purchase with the 20 percent rate discount for being a student

The one time developer discount is variable IIRC. It is a larger % discount on Mac Pros than it is on the mac mini for example, so you may want to ask about that at the store. Since it is a one time thing, you may want to save it for when you are buying a more expensive machine.
