WLAN connection going into Limited Connection mode

Hey all,

I got a Dell E1505/6400 about 6 months ago with the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG card. Installed Vista some weeks ago and I get this problem. The WLAN connection sometimes goes into Limited Connection mode (yellow triangle logo). I can disconnect the connection but when I try to connect, it will say that there are no WLAN connections available. The only way to fix it is to reboot the system.

Any idea what might be wrong and how to fix it? I already have the latest drivers from Dell installed.

Thanks.

Unfortunately you aren't the only one with this problem. Just google "Vista 3945abg" and read up on it. The only successful fix i've heard so far is rolling the driver back to the original microsoft one.

The latest driver from Dell for the Intel 3945 card is: http://ftp.dell.com/network/R152679.EXE (version A03 dated 4/26/2007). You can also download the Dell A00 version (http://ftp.dell.com/network/R142718.EXE dated 2/20/2007) if you want to give it a try to see if it helps.

As soon as Intel releases an update it will get tested with the Dell systems and once that is completed it will get posted on the Dell support website (http://support.dell.com). Unfortunately, I do not know how long it will be until that update gets released.
