Compaq Problem!

here is the hardware: Compaq Armada 1750, PII 400Mhz, 92Mb RAM, 10GB hard drive. here is what happened:

9AM - working fine.
noon - out to lunch, left laptop off and didnt take it with.
1PM - boot laptop to windows, get a bluescreen. try 3 more times unsuccessfully. even tried safe mode. after those then it would not boot, all i saw was the red COMPAQ logo and then a black screen. it will not boot from the CD drive, and i cant seem to get it in to the BIOS.

is there anything i can try to fix this?

I remember reading from one of the posts that HP support suggested removing the battery and holding down the power button for 30 seconds. Sounds like idiocy but it's something to do while waiting for someone to reply with something more helpful.

Also, see if you have a reset button at the bottom of your laptop. My HP nx9005 has one.

I'd start by looking at hard drive. What is the bluescreen error? 000000?????
