New Hard Drive

Hi There,
I've put a new Hitachi HD 80gb in my R40 2681 CNG Laptop and loaded a Windows xp Pro disc in CDRW.
Dos message says; cant find Operating System !
Anyone any Ideas please?

you have to boot from the CD drive and install windows.

Thanks for reply. I cant load the xp software has I get a message; CLIENT MAC ADDR:00 06 1B C9 3C 28 GUID: 5EB93781 45CD 11CB AA77 F2D3EF3D74F6 PXE-E51:No DHCP or proxyDHCP offers were received. PXE-MOF:Exiting Intel Boot Agent. Operating System not found I have set boot sequence to CDrom but it still brings up the above message! Any ideas Please Pete

when booting up, press F12 and then choose CDROM, if that doesn't work, reboot, enter bios (F1) press F9 twice (to hear a beep) and then press F10 to save settings, after that F12 again and you might be able then to boot from CD
