I have an Acer Aspire 3620 and my mother and sister both have Dell laptops. We have a Linksys WRT54G router. Our internet was also a little slow when I was home for weekends at college, but repairing the connection on each laptop usually fixed the internet for twenty minutes or so. Now that I'm home for the summer, our internet is crazy slow. If my laptop is turned on, the internet goes super slow, but if my laptop is turned off, the speed increases. My sister will not stop saying that it is my laptop, something to do with my network card. I've read about a million threads on tons of different forums, and I don't know THAT MUCH about computers, so I'm not sure how to update the firmware on my router, and I don't know what else to do to my laptop to try to fix it. I've updated all my drivers, also. Any help at all will be appreciated.
