This is nice. Should us save a good six hours or so of phone time, per part.

Does anyone know what higher speed processors would go into the Dell 9400. Are there any Quadcores which would fit it for example?

T7600 is the highest processor available. There are no quad core laptop processors. You cannot upgrade to the T7600G

Does anyone know if and how the T7400 in the Inspiron 9400 can be overclocked?

Hi everybody,

I'm new to the forum,

I need a new heatsink P/N DF031 and bottom base plastic for my 9400 / E1705 problem is I don't have a service tag, is there any way of ordering from dell without one,
or is there any one that would order it for me and have it sent to my address,
I live in Ontario so someone in Canada would probably work out best

Thanks

I've never ordered from spare parts but I'd think as long as you had the part number you could find and order the part w/o the service tag.

Have you used the search by part number option at the site?

I have only gone to the step where I add the part to my cart. If this is what you're talking about then just do this. Go to dell.com. Search for "spare parts." Then click the link for "Dell Parts - Home & Home Office." From there, you can use the pdf's I linked to to find the part numbers. Search for these part numbers in the box at the top left under "Narrow your selection."

Thank you for posting this. I have been searching for a battery and charger for the longest. Where do you feel the best deals lie? Do you trust ebay? I have purchased things from ebay but no electronic equipment. Do you have any experience with purchasing computer equipment on ebay?

I have no issue with eBay - just make sure that you check out the sellers feedback history, paying with paypal and you are set. They do offer 3rd party extended warranty, might look into it.

But for mainstream brands like Dell, I recommend staying with them direct, after sales support is something one can take it lightly

cheers ...

ok, appreciate the feedback qhn ... I agree with your point, too, about going direct. I will do my homework before making any purchases

how often do you use ebay?
