M90 Users: Since Bios Update moch more fan noise?

Hi All,

First of all, I´m still happy with my M90 (T2500, 2GB RAM, 160GB HD, FX2500M) and I really think that this is a great machine.

What I experience since I installed the newest Bios (A06) it seems that my fans are stepping much faster in and in comparison to Bios A05 they´re now even when only surfing the web more or less always on.

I got Ultimate as OS on my M90, but this can´t be the issue, had it also before the upgrade installed.

So question: You guys/girls receiving the same results? Anyone know what´s the reason for Dell to obviously bump up the fans? (Can´t be thermal issue, because with A05 Bios system also worked pretty good also under high-stress applications) Any workaround (except downgrading to A05) ?

Thanks in advance,

Michael

Temps are rising while its becoming summer?

But you're right. My M90 also spins up more often. Maybe some Dust in the Fans. I don't know...

HI, I don´t think that it is because we´re getting summer, using my notebook mor eor less only inhouse. Also don´t believe on dust in Fans ... My best guess currently is that the latest Bios upgrade is responsible for that one...

So easiest way to check would be some from the arctics with upgraded Bios playing some graphics intensive games, right :-) Regards, Michael

If you feel that the fan step in level is a problem then you can use programs such as i8kfangui to manually set your own threshhold temps you can get it at www.diefer.de (be sure to click english on top right of the page)
