D900K (AMD) motherboard in a D900T (Intel) chassis??

I have the ability to get this motherboard. I would like to know if the bottom half of the plastic case is the same between the D900T and the D900K versions? The reasoning is because I have a very nice custom painted case and I really would like a duel processor setup.

Yes, I just transformed my D900T into a D900K about a month ago and all is well.

Yes, they should be exactly the same. As far as I know the only differences are Mobo/chipset between those two models. Please let us know your results.

This is interesting...if only because this question has been asked before, and the "official" response was that the "motherboard offsets" were different, making the conversion impossible.

If in fact transforming a D900T into a D900K IS possible, then never giving customers this upgrade option and instead "forcing" customers to upgrade to the mechanically inferior and, comparatively speaking, performance inferior 9890 is rather reprehensible on the part of Sager et. al.

For those of you who have successfully made this conversion, where did you obtain your components from? And, can I assume that these upgraded machines would be fully Vista capable with the concurrent upgrade of D900T problem hardware?

I have the ability to get these boards for $350 new and as far as I can see they should work fine. Mine will be here today so I will take photos and let everyone know for sure. If they work, and anyone is interested. I will be offering a change out service for anyone who is interested in upgrading there's. I also have a source on 1920 X 1200 WUXGA screens.
