Superman Edition...faster than a speeding bullet?

finally pulled the trigger two nights ago and ordered the LE superman notebook... and i should have been at phase 3 yesterday but stupid me realized that i had a daily credit limit of $1000 being a student . Called them up to make sure they'll withdraw the rest tomorrow and that i didnt have to do anything more and they said they would... estimated ship date is the 8th of june... with 2-3 days shipping to where im at according to the sales rep... i should get it in under three weeks...

p.s. it may be my poor search skills but im suprised there hasnt been a single complete review of this notebook... im planning to make one, that is if im not totally swept off my feet when it gets here

thanks cajunCARTFan... small update... i now only have$3.93 to my name... usually people aren't happy when they're broke college students... but me, im ecstatic... means my alienware is moving along... website hasnt told me im on phase 3 but after talking to a sales rep, he said that's where it's at and could possibly enter production later today but mos def beginning of next week... seeing as how its almost friday afternoon (and hypothetically if i were working at alienware) i probably wouldn't start building a new comp... but that's just me, prolly why im not working at AW. so for now, fingers crossed:

Phase 1: 5/23/07
Phase 2: 5/24/07
Phase 3: 5/25/07

ignoring the fact that there is this uber long spam and totally inappropriate post on this thread... i bear great news (for me that is ) to any and all who have taken an interest in my game of phases. The alienware peeps workin on my notebook must either be freshly recruited or just on top of the game because my phase situation jumped from phase 2 to phase 4 since friday . Seeing as how it was a three day weekend and the day just started, this is pretty impressive and rather reassuring from all the other "incidents"

thanks mitcity22, i reported the spam as well...

but on another totally random but related note... if that makes sense... i am SO glad i ordered the superman edition a couple of days, ago because as of right now, they are no longer on the website... i'm glad i didnt listen to the customer sales rep who told me that they will be stocking them until the end of june

Congrats! I just ordered one too because of the good price and I'm a big Superman fan... Just a big kid at heart lol <
And your right! The superman laptop is no longer available. Perhaps one of us will recieve 349 and 350 of 350?

haha... i doubt ill get 350... pretty sweet if i did... clutch decision... im probably in the 340-345 region... when did you get urs? ordered mine on the 23rd... which was 6 days ago... barebone system, just cuz i wanted it to get to me faster and i figured i could upgrade ram, cpu, and hdd gradually...

on second thought, my number is probably higher 340's

I ordered mine last saturday (26th) in the afternoon and I'm at Phase 4 now. I did email AW to see if I can upgrade my drive to DVDRW (5 day delay) if not mine should ship June the 4th.

they told me to expect mine to ship on the 8th, and seeing as how u ordered urs later than mine im hoping that yours ships out on the 4th, and mine before that...hehe

I got mine right before the school semester started and was only able to post pictures and didn't have time to write a review. Can't wait for your review though.

no worries maxgem... i've never done a review on anything so this review should be a pretty interesting task to say the least... now if only they would update my phase because what i have noticed from this forum, bryan'sM505x's AW is already on phase five and he ordered his i think three days after mine and mine's still stuck on phase 4... i thought a barebones system would get it produced faster... guess it might be the opposite ... on a side note... is it just my browser or did the site maintenance that they did get rid of all the avatars and sigs? lucky ninja --> (maybe, just maybe it will speed things up, it worked for brixtongunner )

they have patriot ram ddr2 1gb sticks for 30.99 each with free shipping. Mine just arrived and only took 2 days for delivery : )

in response to the ram... i do need more ram... but im looking to get a 2gb stick for one of the slots and upgrading again later because apparently these notebooks support 4gb of ram... which is a lot... but i like to game and push my computers to the edge ... im just trying to find someone who has tested some 2gb sticks to see if they are supported by m5790s or the superman editions... apparently they are exactly the same computers, different chassis

on a side and more important note... alienware lied to me ... well... the website did... surprise surprise... i've actually been stuck on phase 3 instead of phase 4 since mondayu... my notebook is being held for an additional 7 days because the dvd drive i ordered is out of stock... and it wont arrive until the 7th of june... and they need another 7 business days to build the system... so we're looking at the 19th of june for it to be shipped... and getting to me on the 22nd... wow... a whole month of nothing... i returned my 32" samsung hdtv so i could get this computer and it backfires... guess the ninja wasn't lucky... i dont understand why they dont process the systems in the order they are received... looks like bryan'sm505x was ordered later but built first... definetely nothing against you tho bryan
