Ultimate 1712 Backpack
I carry mine in a gorgeous full grain black leather backpack that I picked up from Sam's for 69.00. My 16" Sony lived in it before. I've had it for over a year, and not only does it carry my 1712, I have 3 mid pockets for a dateminder, motorcycle gloves, mechanics gloves and a screwdriver site. Then there is a front for credit cards, 2 pens and my wallet. I attached a cd holder to the top handle with 2 of those rock-climber clamps (the elliptical-shaped locking thingys)
I have yet to find anything that I need on a day to day basis that this bag won't hold, and even after a year, it is still as gorgeous as the day I bought it.
I did have to make one modification for the acer...I had the cut the zipper divider at the top, but the section still holds the adapter where it should be held.
Anyway, I know that likely doesn't help UK buyers a whole lot, but the last time I was in Sam's (a week ago) they had a bunch in the luggage section. This was the Sam's in Gulfport, MS. If you are motivated, you could try calling them and get the exact stock and model number, and possibly get one yourself from Samsonite, since I think they are worldwide. I know that's not a ton of info, but I can find a model number anywhere
P.S. Anyone given any thought to the questions I posted above about how to get my 1712 to see my whole 160 Hitatchi drive?
Hope this helps somebody looking for the perfect bag!!!
