Sorry to say, it sounds like a motherboard failure...

If you're under warranty you can contact AW for assistance. If not, rjtech.com sells parts for the system and may be able to offer you some advice.

Have you tried to reinstall the OS, or to see if you can get it to boot off a cd?

MOTHERBOARD FAILED. REPLACE IT FOR HIGH COST OR GET NEW LAPTOP.

.....I can speak your language.

Motherboard, RAM, or power supply. Most likely what the other folks said: a motherboard.

And yes, the caps lock key won't bite you. You can touch it! j/k

Good luck!

If it works without the cpu, just leave it out.

I was wondering this myself. f the amd's and the c2d's. the cpu is just a bottleneck anyways. I wish I could of ordered an AW without a cpu and save some money. instead of the aurora or the area-51 it could be the black hole.

I think I got to replace a stick of ram in my a-51 m7700 too. Some games that I could put on full settings and play fine now will periododicaly(? spellling) slow down and my dvd player acts up half the time like it can't read the disk. every time I've had a computer act this way it's been a stick of ram gone bad. I've put two cd- roms in one computer of mine before I figured out it was the ram. sometimes it'll act like a bad hard drive too. I make sure to keep all the fans and cooling surfaces dust free so I know it's not that. It could be a vid card and a bad dvd rom too, which I hope not. I want to upgrade it to 4 gigs anyways so I'll just get 2 more gigs, swap both sticks out for the new ones. if it clears my problem then I got too figure out which stick is bad and get another gig.

My M-7700 had the same symptoms. Turned out it was the video burned out. On my third video card now, thank god AW replaced them free of charge. Wish they would just replace the whole machine, clearly if it has burned out 2 GPUs already it is defective.

I took mine all apart and then black screen. Didnt get the ram pushed in all the way.
