I bought a m9750 laptop a week ago. With an estimated ship date of June 4th, it was gonna be a difficult wait. On top of that, it had been stuck on phase 4 for about a week... so I started to call customer support.
In the few times I talked to customer support, I thought it interesting that the rep made a point to tell me, "we recommend that you call us for your order status rather than check the website because the website isn't accurate"... and that the webcam was backordered. I called Friday, as per the rep's recommendation, and was told, very politely, that the demand for the m9750 has exceeded their expectations and the estimated shipdate will now be end of June.
That was a crushing blow - and I admit I got a little snippy - and responded when the customer rep recommended that I call them for order status. I asked if the website's order status was dead or something. He sounded like he took personal offense to that, and told me something that I found interesting.
The rep told me that the website is not dead(emphasis on "not") and that it works. He then told me that the website shows that my order is on phase 4, so it works. But my order status is really on phase 3. But more importantly, the website's order status page works.
I reponded that by reminding the rep that when I called last week, my order phase was 4, and that some part was backordered.
The rep responded by apologizing again, stating that due to unexpected demand(almost verbatim as before, starting to suspect that it was from a script)
Phase 4 to Phase 3... arg. I'll have to wait longer...
... I hope it doesn't revert to phase 2 and charge me again
