How do I get install discs?

I just bought a new Compaq laptop. I know it doesn't come with install discs and I have to burn my own recovery discs. I want to do a fresh install of Vista. Can I just call Compaq customer support and order the install discs? I know I will probably have to pay for em.

Really? Because I just contacted customer service and they said they don't even offer install disks. Is there a phone number or email you know I should contact?

Why not just make the recovery disks? They will act as fresh install disks + Compaq out-of-the-box software, which can be deleted at your discretion.

In my case the, I was unable to burn the disks because it would fail right before the end. I wasted 2 dl disks trying to do this. It was worth the $20 I spent to get the discs.

You should be able to buy the recovery disk from HP. Thats your best bet.

Go to HP's website; go to the support section for your laptop; and you will find a link to order a set of restoral discs. I think it will cost something like $20.00 (shipping).
