Is the 9300 mobo a direct drop-in for the 9200 chassis?

I've been told that it most likely is, but I wanted to get some more concrete feeback before I go buying one.

I have not really paid much attention to the various upgradabilities for the 9300 (since I have the 9200).
What CPUs & GPUs will work in the 9300?
What would be the best case scenerio (best CPU & GPU)?

Thanks, all.

Don't bother. For the cost of new motherboard + CPU + GPU you could just about get a new laptop, with better specs to boot. This would be especially so if you sold the i9200 to finance it...

No, not really. I've been pricing some used 9300 boards and have found that not to be the case at all. I also happen to have just about everything I need to build another 9200 except the mobo. I had intended on building another 9200 for my wife. But I considered building up a 9300 and giving my wife my 9200, -that is, if the 9300 mobo was a direct drop-in replacement for the 9200 in a 9200 chassis.
I also am unfamiliar with just how much better a 9300 could be compared to my 9200, which is why I wass asking about both the CPU and GPU choices.

I don't know about if a motherboard conversion is possible for the i9200/9300 since I've only owned the 9300, but I can tell you that an i9300 maxes out with a PM-2.26GHZ, 2gigs of 533mhz DDR (but will support 400mhz RAM if using an older PM @ 400mhz FSB), expansion slots for bluetooth card and wifi, and with a BIOS flash and upgraded 130watt power supply an Nvidia Geforce 7800GTX. With the standard power supply a vanilla Geforce 6800 go is your best video option. I hope this helps.

I guess you're going to have to risk the mobo swap. Although need be I can find the dimensions of the mobo and take a pic for you...
If you were gonna get a cpu, you'd be better off just pinmodding assuming you are comfortable with doing this. As for the gpu, you can use the x300, x600, 6800go, 6800ultra, or 7800gtx. The x300 is a joke, the x600 is ok but not mentioned much, the 6800go is good, the ultra is better, and the 7800gtx is best. You'd be better off looking for the 6800 series imo because these lunatics online charge $400 for 7800gtx's (one guy sells it for around $300 though but the mxm's are like $150)...
That said I have two ultra's I will sell soon I guess but I dont want to sell them here because likely I'd be selling them to get a 7800gtx somehow and I dont want to overcharge anyone here.
