Is anyone else pissed about the m9750?? - Page 3

^ if you just ordered yours on 5/26 its probably on time for a late June or July delivery which is why you haven't gotten any emails. I and others are just pissed we ordered ours months ago and havent gotten any emails or communication from them along the way.

That ~$4k could have been earning interest in my ING account.. it almost feels like your buying something that doesnt even exist lol

The delays do happen with new systems guys, it'll be worth it...

Hang in there...

Just recieved another E-mail

Due to the extremely successful demand on the Area-51 m9750 and the strict guidelines Alienware placed on quality control, your system's shipping date has been extended to the end of June. Alienware's policy (particularly on first out the door shipments) emphasizes additional reviews and checks with newly launched product to meet high standards. We apologize for any inconvenience this shipping delay may cause you.
An Email like this sent last week would have been good not the day after the estimated ship date. But I am Glad they took the time to inform me. But now I am torn, June is one of my Favorite months Half of me wants the month to go slow and the other half wants it to fly by LOL Well at least we will have Fireworks to celebrate the arrival of the Laptops now eh?

Go configure a system today. Says any display will delay shipment and the target shipment date is...

July 30th.
Still says the 3rd when I do it...
Atleast it says how long it will take to get the screen which is 21 days and 5 days to build your system. July 3 is what shows up on my screen. they must have most orders almost completed if it only takes 5 days to build the system. I guess they just need to place the screens on most of them?

Well now I am getting confused I just recieved this email from alienware
Quote:
According to your account information, the part that is currently on backorder is the motherboard for your system
Oh well monitor, mobo whats the difference right? We still have to wait!! And actually it makes a lil more sense since the 17" WideUXGA 1920 x 1200 LCD with Clearview Technology is not back ordered on the m9700 model. and since there is no option for the mobo on the web site that they can say the mobo is back ordered, they probably just popped it on the monitor section. And after all its a brand new MoBo for alienware correct? Its gonna be worth the wait!

what ever the delay is its on the chassis.

I'm waiting until the first few batches are out in the wild. Hopefully, if there are any bugs in the new platform, they will be worked out by the Fall.

Good luck guys and hopefully you get your systems soon!
The only bugs to be worked out will be when microsoft fixes VISTA. if there are bugs simple downloads will fix the problems no big deal. For now im sticking with XP

Sticking with XP is a smart move, but I am sticking with my position that a new platform such as the 9750 will have the potential to have problems in the initial stages of it's release, both hardware and software.

Ive never had an issues with any of my alienware computers that i have ordered so may be im just lucky.

damn.....I could of had mine ship late this week if they ever got to it. When I heard that late june crap 2 weeks ago i dont reget it but i had to cancel my order.. i hated to but i could not wait another 3-6 weeks more after 9 weeks went by already. so i went to circuit city and picked up a nicley equipied dv9000. WOrks nicly with vista. very good support from HP. 7600 gpu is ok but im not sure if i can up grade it.

DO any of you (Hammerhead) know if it can be upgraded in the future..it is very easy to get inside.

I would of been happy with the 9750 but im very happy just to be on a lappy right now. Oh by the way the battery preformace is great.3-4 hours! Im gonna pick up a wireless router late this week. any sugestions?

thanx

I haven't had any issues with mine and we are going on seven Alienware systems now. I couldn't be happier with them. But this platform is a little different in that it is the first of it's kind. C2D with SLI in a mobile platform is a huge development for the mobile computing world.

The bottom line for me is that I hate beta-testing for companies. But I am sure Alienware will do everything in it's power to ensure we get fully functioning systems out of the box.

well i couldnt pass up the deal i got on my hp after all i was in dier need for a lappy after being on the phone for a hour and a half to cancel my order(1st phone call they hung up on me when i asked why the delay..no answer from them .and then called ended by AW) second call got it straightened out.. then another call to AMEX to get the money that was collecting intrest in AW favor $3300!!!!! sooh all and all i have around 1700 in my pocket!!!!! whahooooohooo. SOmeone else was talking about AW taking money rightaway and having it going to something that wouldnt be built untill weeks later..hmmmm doesent sould right..
think of it this way .. im gonna give some one 3300 and wiat for them to give me the product later..(12 weeks later) oh and they gather intrest on it right away while your just sitting in a dark room waiting for your m9750 which seems like it will never show up.

Im upset about AW polices with payment.. there products are excellent(so i have heard) but they got to get it togehter if they are going to tell me it will be shiped by may 28th. (at that time i called and i got a month delay put on it for no reason)

as i said before about the wait. CES was a long time ago and they said it the next few months(im think 2-3 tops) here it is june and i dont think anyone has recieved a 9750. so if im correct is that twice the time they should of had it ready.? get all the kinks out of it

In theory, that's why we pay them money, right? I haven't heard on my m9750 yet one way or another (hit phase 4 in mid-April), but I'm not in a super rush. @KarolKelly - I've had good luck with Netgear routers, but Linksys is also good. I've heard bad things about D-Link, but I don't have any first-hand experience. There's one other major brand I'm forgetting, I think, but whatever. Unless you have a draft-n card in your laptop, I wouldn't recommend buying a draft-n router. And even then, I'm not a big fan. Most places, you won't be able to realize the claimed speeds, as your broadband connection probably won't reach those speeds. You would likely only see it when transferring files to other computers in your home (apartment, dorm room, whatever).
