Thanks a bunch, Kaltek! After seeing your photos, I started doing a bit more research. I was originally looking at the 30" Dell, but not to happy with the resolution limitations. Then started looking for a 1080p 32"er - looks like the Sharp is a winner.

I'm looking for something that is not TOO big to use as a PC monitor (primarily for gaming), but also big enough to handle 360 gaming. This looks like a good solution. I think the 37" or larger is just too big for the PC part, plus 1920x1080p looks like plenty of resolution for 32". You just cost me some $$

Hey all sorry It took me so long to get back I've been gaming on this thing too much lol.

I have some more pics of the setup. some pics of it in game (Guild wars)

Here are some more scenery pics.

Oh and to answer your price question I picked it up off eBay for a steal (the only reason I am using it as I'd never be able to afford new prices on this) for $600 shipped I sold my 2407WFP and about broke even on it.

What is the utility that you have in OSX... directly to the right of the Detect Displays thing, it had two bars, with percentages. Were those CPU meters or what?

that is the same screen that I have. Im looking at getting either a new mac book pro or a mac pro. Not sure yet but I do like them both. The tv is great

yet again i must say that i <3 your setup

kaltek ... after using it for a while, are you still convinced 32" is the right size? I looked at one today, but it seemed a bit small - but I'm hesitant to go to the 37" for primary use on the PC.

I think my problem is, I'm comparing it to a larger TV set, when I should be comparing it to a smaller monitor...

You Just answered your question

Its still the best size imo the 37" will hurt your eyes i've heard if you are itting close (computer monitor use) which makes the 32" the sweet spot for computer monitor and all around use as well.

when looking at monitors walk up to within about 30" of the monitor. Don't stand back like you are looking at a TV. remember how close you are going to be to it.

I have a 32" as well & it is perfect. Look at the review link in my sig. at the bottom you will see my 32" setup. You have to right click to open the pics to make them larger.

i think ~30" would be about right @ 1080 for my needs. it would be great to have Apple's res for the 30" in the way of screen real estate, but the main reason i'd get one is that it's a good compromise between a TV and monitor. as a TV u won't really see the benefit of the 1080p on a 32" screen, but for a computer it gives you a decent workspace and a resolution that will allow you/me to play games at their native resolutions w/o killing my GPU. not the case w/ Apple/Dell/etc.'s 30" monitors which would likely require a quad GPU setup to play newer games at a reasonable framerate. i haven't seen any 32" 1080p screens in stores as of yet. my only concern would be that at 32" and 1080 pixels, that the dot pitch might be a little big for my tastes, but maybe it's all a wash given the distance one would have to sit back from a 32" screen to use it.

my 32" display is a 1360x768, which was perfect for my needs.

That setup is beautiful! Very nice! I think 32" is the sweet spot, but Shazza if you have the cash go with the Sharp 32" 1080p TV.

@ boom - I've got more $$ than sense, which is why I always try to get the perspective of those who are using the various systems and peripherals
