XPS 1210/Bluetooth headset BH-200 problem

Thread Starter
Hi Forum,

I have recently bought Dell XPS 1210 with internal Dell TrueMobile 355 BT module and BH-200 stereo headset.

My problem : My system is not able to detect BH-200 BT headset.

My System : BIOS A07, Vista 32 bit

My Debugging so far :
1. BT headset swithced on-off several times.
2. Installed R140135.exe driver (When I installed this at first, wizard told me it cant to install as its possible only for vista, mine is vista anyways!!! However, then I moved to Device manager -> Bluetooth Radio -> update driver and it updated) Now My description in Device Manager reads "Bleutooth 355....EDR2.0....with trace buffer"
3. Spoke to Dell support staff and they sent me new BT headset but no luck.
4. Tried reseting BT headset.
5. I am able to connect my mobile, desk top and able to transfer files in both directions.
6. I am able to connect other audio headset, however I am not able to route my audio to it :-(

Any tiny help leading towards resolution of the problem would be much appriciated.

Regards,
Shyamal

Hi Shyamal, Dont knw if u hav already resolvd the issue. But hope that you have firstly paired the bluetooth headset with the system by follwing the instructions. Once that is done you need to make sure tht you are using the Headset stereo audio as ur playback device to get audio from the headset. Right click the sound icon in taskbar and click playback devices > then make the BT stereo audio as teh default device and then relauch any media application like WMP and you should get the audio. there is nothing wrong with the BT headset or drivers...just a matter of selecting the right settings. Cheers

I have Dell Inspiron 1520 and also have similar info with shyamal_mehta in the Device Mgr. Per experience, I confirm Cheers help to beto its help. Let me add however that in setting-up the bluetooth stereo headphone, you have to pair for stereo audio and another for hands-free audio.

You may open the Control Panel-Sounds and Audio Devices Properties:

1) On Audio tab, select Bluetooth Stereo Audio for Sound playback and Bluetooth Hands-free Audio for Sound recording.

2) On Voice tab, select Bluetooth Stereo Audio for Voice playback and Bluetooth Hands-free Audio for Voice recording.

You may also open the Volume Control-Options-Properties: select Bluetooth stereo audio for playback and Bluetooth hands-free audio for recording.

To pair:

1) Make your bluetooth device is on and/or in pairing condition.
2) Rigth-click the Bluetooth icon in the task bar, select your choice in Quick connect like hands-free audio, stereo audio.

It should detect your bluetooth device. My headset is only a generic device yet it is detected. I didn't encounter a problem with its driver which I thought I have in the first place.
