OK, i just graduated from highschool and i wanted to get laptop for college. I was just wondering, what laptop would be good for me. I do alot things with desktop, so i need something comes close to it. What i need out of the laptop is a good enough graphics card and processer to play C&C , half-life, starcraft 2(which hasnt come out yet, but i want it to be able play on my laptop), doom, and etc with ease. I do store alot music and pics, so i need i decent hard drive. For movies and videos, i do tend to store some movies , but not alot. Finally do alot my school work on my computer as well. Ok so do u guys have any suggestions? it would be great if u can help.

well my budget is $2000 to 3000. I have been looking into a desktop replacement laptop, but i think it would be to heavy to carry around campus.

so does that mean you DO want to take it to class with you???

Also it is hard to tell what kind of GPU will be needed for sc2, IMO you shouldn't get a GPU less than a 7900gs which will limit you to 17" notebooks = DTR for the most part.

IDK, if you go for a more mobile unit then you may have to for go the sc2 playing.

Ok well if a 17in screen is what you want, take a look at...........

Dell E1705 = affordable, popular, good for college living :P
Dell xps 1710 = $, power, bling factor
Alienware 7900 or 7950 = $, power, ppl. may steal it cuz it is an Alien
Sager 5760 = $, power

I would get the 5760, but that is just me

the dell precision m90 is basically the same as the xps except without the flashy stuff (the lights and the lid). it's less optimized for gaming, but still performs pretty well. with approximately the same specs, the m90 is a little bit cheaper than the xps.
