I have a Clevo 900K purchased from Cyberpower in Feb 2006. I have had problems with it from the beginning but only with gaming. I can run the machine all day with no problem but when a game is loaded there is always a hardlock/hang. It does not happen the same way all the time. Some times I can play for 1 hour, sometimes 5 minutes. The system hangs and has to be rebooted by holding down power button.
Games include WOW, Oblivion, Fear, Heroes, any 3d.
System is Clevo 900K, Athlon FX 60, 2 GB RAM, 120 HD in RAID (2-60GB), WIN XP PRO., 7950GTX (had a 7800GTX originally but i upgraded because i thought it was the card)
I have been trying to figure this out for over a year. I have swapped out and tested the ram several times and rule that out. Same with the video card. Tried updating all kinds of drivers. Nothing worked. Problem always remains the same.
I am curious if anyone out there knows the manufacturer and model of the motherboard of this unit. Chipset is Via K8T890CE /VT 8237.
